Learn how to create, transfer, and paint designs on furniture using calligraphy brushes. Imagine being able to turn an everyday piece of furniture, such as a closet, into an artistic piece that fills the rooms of your home with joy. That is what Lucas Rise does, combining his two specialties. The issue is that the Lucas Pro-Tools paint brush is so damn expensive. At £60 each, I have to admit, I was struggling to justify the cost but I think I now might be able to. The first thing to note is that this brush is not really meant for enthusiastic amateur DIYers like me. It is a proper professional tool.

Lucas are pleased to announce they have launched their own range of premium quality tools under the brand Lucas ProTools.
The first product in the range, the ProFinish, takes the paintbrush to new levels of quality and performance.
Ergonomically designed, the ProFinish uses the very best materials, British manufacturing methods and is endorsed by Zoffany Paints.
The new brush has been designed and developed for today's environmentally caring water based paints and after extensive R&D provides outstanding coverage and advances the flow and application of the paint across the work surface to give the world's best quality brush finish yet.
The Made in Britain marque has been accredited to Lucas ProTools clearly showing that the ProFinish has been manufactured in Great Britain. The interior designer and co-founder of Red or Dead and advocate of British design, Wayne Hemingway, gave an inspiring speech endorsing the best of British design and innovation to the industry guests and VIPs as did Simon Lake General Manager at McLaren Group. This was followed by a tour of the iconic building designed by Foster + Partners.
Danny Lucas, Executive Chairman and Managing Director of Lucas, said: “I felt very strongly that there are considerable improvements we could make to the tools we use in finishing and fit out. The design and quality could be so much better, and that would bring advances in performance and a better job for clients. I believe we will achieve this with Lucas ProTools and the ProFinish product as the first practical result of our investment in this process.”
The launch itself took place at a special event held for industry VIPs at the McLaren Technology Centre. The venue reflects Lucas’s determination to bring new ideas and new technologies to its work in the construction industry and acts as a showcase for the quality finish achieved by the ProFinish paintbrush.
